King F.A.M.E.

Biography

What do you get when you mix the creative genius of Kanye West, the hustle of Dame Dash, and the business savvy of Jay-Z? Your answer is NC hip hop artist/entrepreneur King F.A.M.E.  Born Marcus Legette in Poughkeepsie, NY to a 16 year old orphan mother and a 15 year old Italian-American father, Marcus had an uphill battle from the start as his mother struggled to provide a stable home.

Growing up in a musical family, Marcus was labeled a child prodigy. He began performing by age three and playing his first instrument (the drums) by five.   Marcus joined the school band and learned to play the saxophone.  He also began reading and composing music by age eight.  By 16, Marcus began working with high school teammate and producer Herman Johnson (now music director for Monica) to produce a heart wrenching song about the death of his mother, who passed the previous year in a tragic car accident. Having a tough time dealing with the death of his mother, Marcus ended up getting kicked out the house and moving back to his childhood neighborhood, the notorious east side of Durham, North Carolina.

Between run-ins with the law, witnessing the death of a childhood friend to drug violence, home invasions, and failed hoop dreams due to Drug charges, Marcus relocated to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a fresh start. Now going by F.A.M.E, Marcus started to make a name for himself with his music by working with Grammy award winning producer Magneto 7.

In 2005, F.A.M.E started his company, Groundbreaking Entertainment, a full service entertainment business.  He began to develop artists of his own and hosting concerts,  promoting shows with artists such as Drake, Flo-Rida, Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, Plies, and countless others.

As an executive, F.A.M.E has worked alongside industry icons such as Dame Dash & Kareem "Biggs" Burke, both founding members of Roc-a-Fella records. After taking a position As C.O.O of Five Star Empire, F.A.M.E helped to nurture and cultivate the careers of artist such as Casino Mel, Trez Falsetto, and Jemelody just to name a few.
